10-20-11 The
Shootout is Definitive Driver Talent Search $268,000 in Racing
Sponsorships
The driver talent
search conducted by Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle (RSWC) is
excited to announce details for their annual program. Already
noting the $268,000 in scholarship awards, the nationally
acclaimed driver development program is focused on finding top
young drivers and developing them towards professional Stock Car
careers. Talented drivers from across the United States and
Canada will be selected to participate in an extensive,
three-day driver try out event, known as “The Shoot-Out.“
While most people believe that you need to be a champion or
national level race winner to apply for “The Shoot-Out” that
need not be the case. In fact, a few of today’s up and coming
talents with RSWC were not stars in their respective disciplines
of youth motorsports but went on to become race winners and
champions in full size car racing.
Consisting of three days, day one of “The Shoot-Out” includes
shop tours of NASCAR K&N West Team Bill McAnally Racing as well
as both RSWC Teams in the USAC Midgets and NASCAR Modified
series. Participants will also undergo a body fat fitness test,
written problem solving test, a driver training class as well as
an objective and informative workshop for drivers and parents
about career development in the world of motorsports titled “The
Good, Bad and Ugly of Racing Career Pursuit.”
Day two and three of “The Shoot-Out” includes track walks with a
driver coach, Instruction from the crew on how to drive these
specific race cars and five twenty-lap sessions for 100 laps
total in one of these race cars on a paved oval 1/3 mile race
track. The cars are USAC Young Guns Midgets, USAC Focus Midgets
and NASCAR Modifieds.
All Shoot-Out drivers work with a Driver Coach and professional
race crew as well as be evaluated through GPS satellite data
acquisition. The RSWC staff coaches the drivers on the radio
while on track and in the pits. RSWC coaches use that data and
their experience to help the drivers consistently improve to run
100% by the end of the day. After the event is all over, every
driver receives a copy of the data and an objective, factual
report card on how they did, what they did well and where they
need to focus their driver development improvement efforts.
Sutton added, “While in previous years, the RSWC Shoot-Out fee
has been $2500 plus crash deposit. This year we're using
sponsorship funds to lower the fee to every participant. In
2011, Shoot-Out participants get all of this for only $2200. In
reality, there are no race teams at this level where young
drivers can go and receive this much race car experience,
coaching, classroom training, track time and true driver
evaluation for that low cost.”
In addition to being awarded $6,000 to $18,000 in sponsorship
money towards their racing in 2012, the talented drivers
selected for the RSWC racing career development program will
have a racing career focused training program designed
specifically for them, their age, experience and development
stage, including classes, on track training, racing series,
career guidance and race team placement in the racing series
that fits the driver best, including road racing, USAC Midgets,
Sprint Cars, NASCAR Modifieds & Late Model Stock Cars.
RSWC staff expects to receive hundreds of resumes, as they have
in the past, and narrow it down to 40 drivers to test this Fall
on the All American Speedway 1/3 mile paved oval track. Young
drivers, 11 to 20 years of age, with race winning backgrounds in
race cars and/or youth racing series are encouraged to apply.
Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle is known in racing circles as the
most comprehensive driver career development program, having
developed many young racers to successfully make the transition
from youth racing series to winning races in car racing series
in USAC and NASCAR Oval Track, including Jessica Brunelli,
Jessica Clark, Bobby Grewohl, Joey Licata, Jace Meier, Benny
Moon, Nik Romano, Bobby Runyan, Porter Smith, Keegan Walmer and
many more
Establishing itself as a successful driver development program,
RSWC has coordinated a Talent Combine in North Carolina with
four top RSWC drivers testing in front of top Cup team reps, an
individual RSWC driver testing, signing and racing with a top
ARCA development team and a female RSWC driver excelling in
NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program.
The program consists of 12 veteran driver coaches, 26 classroom
training topics, well known trainers and six racing
organizations fielding 30 race teams, all dedicated to develop
talented drivers to professional Stock Car racing. The teams are
a balance of Open Wheel, Stock Car and Road Racing to develop
highly versatile and accomplished winning drivers.
Families of young, winning drivers, ages 11 to 20, are
encouraged to get detailed information from the web-site and
submit their resume before the October 31st, 2011 deadline. The

Line Oil Karting Championship's Northern California Rotax
Challenge travels to Dixon for Round 8
For the fifth
year straight, the Red Line Oil Karting Championship's Northern
California Rotax Challenge will travel to the historic Kinsmen
Kart Club track in Dixon on Sunday, October 30th to run as part
of the Kinsmen Kart Club race. Racing at Kinsmen, gives the
RLOKC Rotax drivers the experience of Nor Cal's best short track
and provides the racers with a challenge that they do not get at
the RLOKC's home track, the simraceway Performance Karting
Center at Infineon Raceway. The track configuration for this
event will be the normal clockwise direction. The Kinsmen Kart
Club is planning a fun Halloween activity during the lunch
break.
There is more at stake at this race than just experiencing the
challenge of the Dixon track. The RLOKC's Rotax Challenge has
only two races left in the 2011 season and there are three
classes which have point races that are still up for grabs. The
Senior Rotax class got much tighter with the win by Sean
McDonald last month. So Cal's Niki Luna holds a slim lead over
2010 champ Carlos Calderon and McDonald. The DD2 Masters class
is still too close to call with Michael Ostrowski holding top
spot over Andre Eriksen. Cameron Evans can put the Rotax Masters
championship away with a Round 8 win over Jerry Pretti. Michael
Michoff will be returning to the Sanzaru Games Mini Max battle
after a visit to the Lancaster street race last month and he
wants to add to his five wins this season. The Dixon track is
Michoff's home track, but he will be challenged by Annie
Breidinger who won her first Mini Max feature last year at track
at Dixon. As they have been at each race this season, the Mini
Max drivers will be vying for cash prizes from Mini Max class
sponsor Sanzaru Games of $50 for first place, $30 for second and
$20 for third place.
RLOKC will give away two race entries valued at $100 each at the
Kinsmen race on Sunday. The entries are valid for RLOKC season
finale race on Sunday, November 6th. All racers who race a
non-Rotax class also offered by RLOKC are eligible to win.
Eligible classes:
KPV1
KPV2
TaG Junior
IAME TaG
TaG Senior
TaG Masters
80 Masters
S2
S4
Saturday practice will be available to all drivers from 9:00 am
to 5:00 pm for a fee of $20. Race entry fee is $75 for the Rotax
classes, which includes a transponder if one is needed.
Registration will close at 9:00 am on race day. Since it is late
in the race season, Rotax membership is not required for drivers
who would like to enter any of the Rotax classes.

Championship's Northern California Rotax Challenge, go to

Deadline Approaching For Pre-Entry to Skusa Supernationals XV
Tentative schedule released for Pro Tour finale event in Las
Vegas
In roughly 20 days, more than 500 drivers from all over the world will
converge on Las Vegas, Nevada for the 15th running of the
Superkarts! USA SuperNationals. The annual event not only hosts
the nation’s top competitors, but it will also attract some of
the best international drivers for what will be a head-to-head
fight for supremacy. The event also signifies the final round of
the 2011 SKUSA Pro Tour, which means that there will be
season-ending championships on the line for eight of the
categories included at this event. With a packed paddock and
full fields guaranteed, there is no doubt this year’s
SuperNationals is going to be historic. The Superkarts! USA
staff has been working around the clock to put the finishing
touches on this year’s event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino
in Las Vegas, and the deadline for pre-entry is closing fast.
The next item on the SKUSA to-do list will be the deadline for
pre-registration on Tuesday, November 1 at Midnight. At that
time, the SKUSA Store will close for pre-entry, race tire sales,
transponder rentals, practice tire sales and event memberships.
After November 1, the purchasing of those items and to enter the
event (at an increased price of $200 more) will be available
only at the track. As announced previously, TaG Senior, TaG
Master and TaG Cadet have been sold out and you may only be
added to the current wait list for each category. TaG Junior was
previously sold out; however, with cancellations and the wait
list entries added in, there is still a chance for drivers to
enter before it’s officially closed. S2 and S4 are nearing the
cap and do not have wait lists, so qualified drivers may still
enter these two classes, while spots also still remain in S1,
KZ2, KF2, G1, and S5.
Among the final planning stages is the detailed schedule for the
2011 event. Instituted in 2009, SKUSA will once again use the
split schedule leading up to SuperSunday, which involves having
a set group of classes running in the first half of the day and
the remaining classes running the second half of the day. This
has been a welcomed addition since the event moved back to the
Rio in 2008. With a class only on-track for half of each day,
competitors and families have more opportunity to enjoy the
event, take in the Vegas experience or to watch the other
categories compete. The 11 classes will be split up into 16
sessions for each round of practice, qualifying and three rounds
of heat races over Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Group 1 is planned to consist of TaG Junior, KF2, S2, TaG Cadet
and KZ2, whereas Group 2 is composed of S4, TaG Senior, S5, G1,
TaG Master and S1. To view this year’s tentative schedule, click
(http://www.superkartsusa.com/national/skusa-supernationals/event-format-and-schedule.html).
Superkarts! USA would like to remind everyone that the deadline
to cancel a pre-entry and still obtain a refund, or to cancel
and transfer your entry to another driver without any additional
charges, is November 1. Furthermore, the deadline for drivers
and teams to pre-order or pre-purchase practice tires for pickup
and payment at the track is Friday, November 4. Only tires
pre-purchased by Nov. 1 (or pre-ordered via email to info@superkartsusa.com
by Nov. 4) will be available for pick up at the track. Thus,
drivers and teams are encouraged to plan accordingly as
Superkarts! USA will not have any extra practice tires for sale
at the track. In case of inclement weather, SKUSA is reminding
competitors to have their MG or Bridgestone wet tires ready.
SKUSA has a limited supply of the initial 100 sets of the new
MG-WT tires at $165 per set on a first-come, first-serve
pre-order basis. Aside from those tires, SKUSA will not sell or
provide rain tires.
Fuel and oil will not be pre-sold for this year’s event, but
will be available for purchase at the track (at current market
pricing) upon check-in at the SKUSA registration desk as well as
throughout most of the race weekend. No fuel may be brought to
this event, according to the very strict fire marshal codes.
Additional items, such as hot pit passes, event passes, one-day
passes, and SKUSA clothing will be available for purchase
throughout the event weekend, so no need to pre-purchase these
items before the Nov. 1 SKUSA store deadline.
With the size of the event and the limited space offered, SKUSA
is requesting that every driver and team submit their pit spot
reservation immediately. Please visit the Pit Spot Reservation
section of the SKUSA website (http://www.superkartsusa.com/national/skusa-supernationals/pit-spot-reservations.html)
to learn more about what information is needed to send this in
to the SKUSA office. All requests are accepted and processed on
a first come-first served basis, and each request will be
acknowledged and responded to as soon as the pit map is updated
with your request. The block of rooms reserved for SKUSA
competitors at the Rio has been sold out for most of the dates
of the event, so the only way to still get a room reservation at
the discounted rate would be to coordinate your reservation with
someone who is in the process of cancelling theirs.
A complete list of the event purses and prizes will be finalized
in the coming days, as another record-breaking total will be
doled out to the competitors of the SKUSA SuperNationals. That
information, in addition to other last-minute announcements,
will be released on www.superkartsusa.com as it is available to
keep all racers informed, so please stay tuned.

10-28-11 Phil
Giebler Racing’s Dees, Grey win LA Karting Club main events,
clinch championships at Fontana; Casadei takes So-Cal Sprinters
title at Riverside
Phil Giebler
Racing’s Keith Dees celebrated his 20th birthday with a main
event victory in Spec PRD Senior and Paul Grey took the main in
Spec PRD Grand Masters and both clinched Los Angeles Karting
Club championships Sunday (Oct. 23) on the .75-mile CalSpeed
Kart Track at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
“It was a great race for Keith and a great way to finish off a
championship-winning season,” Giebler said. “He drove a solid
race with lots of pressure and he stayed focused and brought
home the victory. Keith has learned a lot since joining our team
and he is a big help to the team when he is not driving as
well.”
Dees was third fastest in qualifying, averaging 67.023 mph in a
FA Kart/Hyper Engines-built PRD on Bridgestone tires. The La
Quinta, Calif., resident finished sixth in his heat.
Grey was the top qualifier, averaging 65.213 mph in his FA
Kart/Hyper Engines-built PRD on Bridgestone tires. The Mission
Viejo, Calif., resident was pushed into the barriers in the heat
and flipped.
“Paul was a little banged up and bruised and he came back in the
final after repairing his kart to win the main and take the
championship in style,” Giebler said.
PGR’s Noah Grey of Dana Point, Calif., finished fifth and Seth
Brown of San Diego was ninth in the KPV-2 main. Grey was sixth
and Brown ninth in the heat race. Grey qualified fifth,
averaging 65.151 mph, and Brown 10th, averaging 63.845. Both
drove FA Karts powered by KPV engines built by Tru Tech on
Bridgestone tires.
“Noah had a good run in his first event in the older age group
(12-15),” Giebler said. “He had some good races and battled in
the lead group. I’m looking forward to seeing Noah’s progress in
the older age group. It will be a good challenge for him and he
will learn a lot.
“Seth is fairly new to karting compared to his competitors and
he did a fantastic job learning a new track, new kart and new
team.”
PGR’s GianFranco Casadei won the So-Cal Sprinters championship
in Senior PRD TaG Controlled by finishing first in the premain
and second in the main Saturday at the Adams Motorsports Park in
Riverside, Calif. The Los Angeles-based Brazilian was the
fastest qualifier, averaging 52.724 mph on the .7-mile track
Victor Barbosa of Los Angeles finished third in the main, second
in the premain and was second fastest in qualifying with an
average speed of 51.142 mph in Jr1 PRD TaG Controlled at the
Adams track. The Phil Giebler Racing driver finished second in
the Jr1 championship in So-Cal Sprinters.
“Victor had a great second part to the season and his confidence
is growing with each race,” Giebler said. “Next year he will be
moving up to the 12 to 15 age group. He is fired up and excited
about next year.”
Owned by the 2007 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, Phil Giebler
Racing is based in Orange, Calif., and competes nationally at
the highest level of karting in the United States. Giebler is a

Among Winners and New Champions at SKUSA Mountain Region Finale
Superkarts! USA regional racers take on Grand Junction Motor
Speedway in season ender
The Superkarts! USA Mountain Region held its series finale this
past weekend (October 15-16), hosted by the Grand Junction Motor
Speedway in western Colorado. The facility was the site of the
opening two rounds of the series of the four race program,
welcoming karters back for the final event of the season to
decide this year’s champions and give racers a chance to prepare
for the upcoming SKUSA SuperNationals XV in Las Vegas next
month. Grand Junction-based CRG-USA also offered cash payback to
the top three in the S2 and TaG Senior divisions.
One driver to watch will be S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto event winner
and new regional champion Cory Milne. Entering the event
trailing championship leader Christian Schureman by 60 points,
Milne stepped up to the challenge to negate that deficit and
score the class title. Starting out the event on top however,
was Sabre' Cook daughter of GJMS owner Stacey Cook, as she
posted the fast lap of qualifying (52.817). Christian Bird was
second with Jack Bradley third. Schureman and Milne capped off
the top-five. Milne was quick off the line to begin heat one, up
to second by the completion of the first lap and into the lead
the following circuit. He would drive off to a one-second
victory over Bradley with Schureman in third. Milne scored the
win in heat two, this time pressured by Schureman to put the top
two drivers on the front row for the main event. From the drop
of the green, Milne asserted himself as the leader and drove to
a two-second victory. Meanwhile, Schureman was engaged in a
battle for second and eventually was pushed back to fifth on the
final stages of the race behind Bradley, Cook and Bird.
Calculating the points, Milne earned enough points to secure the
championship by five points over Schureman.
On track at the same time was the S4 Master Stock Moto category.
Clinching the class championship was Jet Davis, who scored his
second feature win of the season at round four. Davis led the
way in qualifying and heat one until he recorded a DNF in heat
two. Bouncing back, Davis drove to a seven-second victory in the
main event over Daryl Mackie and Kit Axelson.
Another championship came down to the wire. The TaG Master
championship was down to Robert Valentino and JP Tandurella,
separated by 15 points. Valentino led the way from the start of
the day as he qualified on pole with Tandurella second. They ran
that way through the two heat races until the main event. It
appeared Valentino was well on his way to the win until he fell
off the pace. By lap 19 of the 20-lap event, Valentino was off
course and out of the race. This gave Tandurella the lead and
the victory, his second of the season. Valentino would be
classified fifth and lose the title by 15 points to Tandurella.
Mianna Wick secured the TaG Junior title with another stellar
run on the day. Her event sweep was completed with a six-second
victory in the main event over Teammate Giovanni Velasquez. TaG
Senior was won by Ben Schermerhorn as he outran Rory Mackey and
Madeline Komar. Winners in the local option classes include
Riley Cook (Mini Max), Tristin MacLeod (Jr 1 K80), Brody Lewis
(Micro Max) and Tryston Fults-Huseman (Kid Kart).
Final point standings will be available soon and published at
www.skusamr.com with details on the 2012 season forthcoming.

Individuals Come Together to Honor Their Friend Dan Wheldon

"Two young
karters to compete in honor of Dan Wheldon"
In light of this past weekend's tragedy, a group of kart racers from
central Indiana are set to honor Dan Wheldon at this year's
Robopong 200 Mile Endurance Race. Taking place at the New Castle
Motorsports Park track just east of Indianapolis, Colton
Aldridge and Tim Hollowell, members of the Kart Racers of
America (KRA) program that race regularly at the facility, will
steer the ' #77 Team Lionheart DW ' entry.
"We have assembled a team of people to honor Dan," explained
Chris Wheeler, who will head up the effort as well as donate his
personal Tony Kart to use. "For those of us fortunate enough to
be close to Dan I feel it is important to honor him for the
amazing man he was. Being able to run two young karters in the
event that Dan enjoyed so much means a lot to me. Dan was very
passionate about karting and it would be great to be able to
come together to win this event for him."
Treating each and every person as a great friend, Dan loved
coming to the kart track and seeing the youngest of drivers
compete. He loved the grassroots side of the sport and would
have loved to see two average racers honor him at an event that
he has won in the past.
"When Chris approached me to be part of this program, I could
not say no," expressed Mike Maurini. "Dan was a friend of mine
and was set to run this year's SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas
with me as his tuner. We would like nothing more than to see the
kart in his honor win this year's Robopong, and I will help out
in whatever way possible."
As seen across the board throughout the entire motorsports
community, groups of people are rallying together to make things
happen. Shadow Graphics will design a #77 Lionheart decal kit.
Trackside, event participants and fans will have the opportunity
to donate to a fund that will see all proceeds go to
two-year-old Sebastian and seven-month-old Oliver, Dan's two
young boys who will be forced to grow up without their father.
A memorial service will be held for Dan Wheldon on Sunday,
October 23 at 4:00pm at the Conseco Fieldhouse in downtown
Indianapolis. Also a trust fund has been set up for Dan
Wheldon's family. Information listed below:

Ostrowski takes DD2 Masters GoPro Feature Race & McDonald takes
Senior Rotax Main
A cool and foggy
morning greeted the racers for Round 7 of the Red Line Oil
Karting Championship, but by 11:00 am the fog burned off and a
warm sunny afternoon made for some great racing at the
simraceway International Karting Center at Infineon Raceway. The
demanding Reverse Sprint track configuration had lots of grip
which challenged the drivers to get the best setup balance and
made for some tight racing in several of the classes.
GoPro Feature Race: DD2 Masters
It was the DD2 Masters' turn for the race winner to take home
the GoPro HD Hero Camera. Michael Ostrowski dominated qualifying
by over a second on Andre Eriksen's time. David Palic was third
on the grid. In the first heat, Ostrowski took the lead out of
turn one and pulled out an eight second win over Eriksen with
Bob Olson coming home in third. In the second heat, Ostrowski
again took the lead and took a seven second win over Eriksen
with Palic taking the third spot. In the main, Michael took the
lead again at the drop of the green flag and then cruised home
for the win over Eriksen and Palic. Ostrowski not only took
maximum points for the day, but also increased his class
championship lead with just two races left in the season. At the
November 6th race, the Junior Rotax class will be the GoPro
Featured Class.
IAME TaG, TaG Senior & TaG Junior
The TaG race group was the largest race group of the weekend
with thirteen karts. The spec gear IAME class again had a strong
turnout with nine karts. In qualifying, Tazio Ottis (TaG Senior)
took the pole in his Rotax powered kart with Don Rocci (IAME TaG)
second, and Andrew Davidge (TaG Senior) third. In the first
heat, Ottis took the early lead and was never challenged with
Rocci staying close to take second and the IAME class win. Sean
McDonald (TaG Senior) had to come through the field to take
third with Bryson Guzman (IAME TaG) edging out Michael Torrano (IAME
TaG) for fourth and Austin Keller (Junior TaG) coming home
sixth. In the second heat, McDonald had to start from the rear
again due to problems in qualifying and worked his way through
to challenge for the lead near the end. McDonald made the pass
on Ottis at the end of the eighth lap with Ottis second, Rocci
third, Davidge fourth, and Amber Friedberg (IAME TaG) taking
fifth. In the main, Ottis was on the pole with McDonald along
side. At the start Ottis took the lead followed by McDonald and
Davidge with Rocci fourth, the first IAME kart. McDonald
shadowed Ottis the entire race looking for a good spot to pass,
but since he had to race this same kart later in the Senior
Rotax race, he wanted to make sure his pass was clean and had no
risk of tangling with Ottis. Davidge was pressured by Rocci the
entire race with Torrano, Guzman and Keller chasing. Friedberg's
race came to an end on lap five as she had to pull off. Guzman
put on a charge throughout the race getting by Torrano then
overtaking Rocci near the end of the race to take fourth and the
IAME class lead. At the checkered flag, Ottis held off McDonald
for the win. McDonald placed second and Davidge third. These
three karts were all in the TaG Senior class. Fourth overall
went to Bryson Guzman in his IAME kart taking his first class
win of the year, fifth overall and second in IAME was Rocci.
Keller took sixth overall and the Junior TaG win with Torrano
taking the seventh overall and third in IAME.
Sanzaru Games Rotax Mini Max
With points leader Michael Michoff in Lancaster for the street
race, there would be a new class winner this race. Annie
Breidinger took her third straight pole with her sister Toni
Breidinger in second and Wilson Skjerven third. In the first
heat, Annie Breidinger took the early lead with Skjerven taking
second at the start and Toni Breidinger tucking in behind for
third. Annie Breidinger was pulling away when she threw a chain
and had to pull off. Skjerven took the lead with Toni Breidinger
putting on the pressure. Toni Breidinger then spun dropping her
to fourth. In the end, Skjerven took the win ahead of Horatio
Fitz-Simon with Corrie Hiatt in third. In the second heat, Annie
Breidinger took the lead from the pole and was never challenged,
taking a five second win ahead of Skjerven with Toni Breidinger
in third. In the main, Skjerven was on pole with Toni Breidinger
along side. At the start, Skejerven went into turn one first
followed by Fitzsimon who was just behind on the grid. Annie
Breidinger had to settle for third. As the leading duo went into
the top turn, Fitzsimon came along side Skjerven and the two
exited the turn side-by-side. In the dash to the tight infield
hairpin turn, the two karts touched causing their front wheels
to interlock which slowed them up a bit. When the two karts
finally separated, Skjerven spun and Annie Breidinger was able
to dash to the inside to take the lead forcing Fitzsimon to fall
back to second. Annie Breidinger proceeded to pull away and went
onto a three second win. The real race was for second with
Fitzsimon under pressure from Toni Breidinger the entire race.
In the end, Annie Breidinger took the win, her first outright
Mini Max win of her career with Fitzsimon taking second just
inches ahead of Toni Breidinger in third, Hiatt fourth and
Skjerven fifth. For the win, Annie Breidinger took home $50 of
Sanzaru Games cash for her efforts with $30 going to Fitzsimon
and $20 to Toni Breidinger.
Rotax Masters
Six karts took the green with Cameron Evans taking the pole
ahead of Jerry Pretti and Scott Ripslinger. In the first heat,
Evans took the lead from the drop of the green with Ripslinger
right behind. Pretti put pressure on Ripslinger, but in the end
had to fall back to take third with Peter Toft coming home
fourth. In the second heat, Evans took the lead with Pretti
right behind, but this was Evans' day to be on a rail and he
pulled away to take a four second win. Pretti finished second,
Ripslinger third and John Breidinger fourth. In the main, Evans
took the lead at the drop of the green and was never challenged.
Pretti took second, Ripslinger third and Peter Toft held off
John Breidinger for the entire race to take fourth, his best
ever finish.
125 Shifters - S2 & S4
Jason Toft put his S2 kart on the pole ahead of S4s Jim
Inglebright, Nick Galante and David Arnstein. In the first heat,
Toft took the early lead with Galante challenging Inglebright.
Galante attempted a pass going into tic-tac-toe which resulted
in Inglebright spinning and Arnstein getting by to take over
second. Galante then made a pass attempt on Arnstein that
resulted in some contact. Galante retired early after being
black flagged. In the end, Toft took the win, Arnstein second,
Mark Nason (S2) third and Brad Shaffer (S4) fourth. In the
second heat, things settled down with Inglebright taking the
early lead followed by Toft and Galante. Toft then went for the
pass to take the lead, but had to pull off before the checkered
flag. Inglebright held off Galante to take the win with Arnstein
in third and Shaffer in fourth. In the main, Arnstein was on the
pole with Inglebright alongside. At the green flag, Arnstein
lead the field into turn one. Inglebright stalled his kart and
had to get a push to get going, well behind the pack. Arnstein
held the lead over Nason, Shaffer, Galante and Toft. Toft worked
his way through to take the lead with Nason getting by Arnstein
to settle into second. With Inglebright way behind, Galante then
took his time setting up a good pass on Arnstein. Galante made
his move and got by Arnstein cleanly to take over third. Toft
took the overall win and first in S2, Nason was second overall
and second in S2, Galante was third overall and first in S4
followed by the S4s of Arnstein and Inglebright.
Junior Rotax
Zack Dante took the pole over rival Will Preston with Jaden
Conwright in third. In the first heat, Zack took the lead with
Will chasing and Conwright, finishing in the same order. The
second heat was a duplicate of the first heat, Dante taking the
lead into turn one and cruising home to a five second win over
Preston with Conwright third. The main turned into a clean sweep
for Dante. Preston finished second and Conwright third.
At the Novemeber sixth race, the Junior Rotax class will be the
GoPro feature race with the winner taking home the GoPro HD Hero
Camera.
Senior Rotax
The Senior Rotax class provided the tightest race of the day. In
qualifying, Carlos Calderon took the pole over Kiel Spaulding,
Niki Luna and Josh Feiber. Spaulding opted to start from the
rear all day, putting Luna on the front row. In the first heat,
Calderon took the early lead and was never challenged on his way
to a three second win over Luna with Spaulding working up to
third followed by Jarrett Lile and Sean McDonald. In the second
heat, Calderon again took the lead followed by Luna, Lile and a
charging McDonald with Spaulding coming on as well. McDonald was
the one on the move first getting by Lile, then Luna to
challenge Calderon for the lead. Two turns before the checkered
flag, McDonald made the inside pass to take the lead, but
Calderon saw a window to get inside McDonald on the last turn
and stuffed it in there, resulting in some rubbing. Calderon
came out first to take the checkered flag with McDonald having
to settle for second. All the while, Spaulding was right behind
and came in third, Luna fourth and Lile fifth. In the main,
Calderon was on the pole, Luna second, McDonald third and
Spaulding opted to start from the rear. Calderon took the lead
at the drop of the green with Luna and McDonald in close
pursuit. McDonald then got by Luna and started after Calderon
with Spaulding coming through the field from the rear. With
about three laps to go in the race, McDonald made the pass on
Calderon and pulled out just enough to not tempt Carlos from
trying a re-pass. Going into the last lap, it was McDonald,
Calderon, and Luna with Spaulding fourth. McDonald held a slight
lead throughout the white flag lap and went on to the win
followed by Calderon, Luna, Spaulding, Jarrett Lile and Andrew
Colombini.
Rotax Masters Light
The regional Masters Light class had five karts in the class
with 2010 champ Mary Beth Wilson taking the pole ahead of a much
improved Stephan Gaudreau with Jerry Pretti in third. In the
first heat, Gaudreau got the jump at the green flag and held off
the race long challenges from Wilson to take a slim victory with
Pretti coming in third. In the second heat, Wilson took the lead
out of turn one and pulled out a two second lead and held it to
the end followed by Gaudreau and Pretti. In the main, Gaudreau
swept into the lead at the green by out braking Wilson into turn
one and took the early lead. Wilson held station right behind
looking for a place to make her move. Pretti had to pull off
mid-race with John Sutherland taking over the third place. With
about five laps to go, Wilson made her move just after the
hairpin leading into the infield. Gaudreau was not able to stay
right on her bumper and thus was never close enough to try a
re-pass. In the end, Wilson took the win by less than a second,
Gaudreau second, Sutherland third and Carol Brown fourth.
80 Masters
With the field thinning out as the season wears on, Tom Nelson
brought a couple of his extra 80 shifters to the track and
invited a couple of 80 veterans to come and race. Thus seven
karts lined up to race with Charles Hastings taking the pole
ahead of JP Cadoux and Roger Cornwall with Nelson fourth. In the
first heat, Hastings took the lead at the green and was never
challenged. Cadoux, driving one of Nelson's karts, stayed close
but came home a second behind, followed by Cornwall and Nelson.
Heat two was a near duplicate of the first heat with Cadoux
closing the gap on Hastings, but still coming home in second.
Nelson got around Cornwall to take third, Cornwall fourth and
Steve Cameron fifth . In the main, Cadoux took the early lead at
the green flag with Hastings right behind. With Cadoux leading,
the pack had tightened up with the first five karts all in a
pack. After four laps in, Hastings made a move on Cadoux going
into the infield hairpin. At the same time, Nelson saw an
opening to pass Hastings. The only problem was the two drivers
had different lines and when they intersected Hastings and
Nelson came together. Now it was Cadoux leading, with Cornwall
and Cameron chasing, followed by a restarted Hastings and
Nelson. Cameron was able to put a pass on Cornwall near the end
to take over second, but he did not have enough to catch Cadoux.
Cadoux went on to the win, his first 80 race in several years,
Cameron second, Cornwall third followed by Hastings, Nelson and
Geoff Provo.
The next race will be the Nor Cal Rotax Challenge classes
running at the Kinsmen Kart Club in Dixon on Sunday, October
30th. The Rotax classes will be joining the Kinsmen Kart Club
race event. All the Red Line Oil Karting Championship classes
will return to the simraceway International Karting Center at
Infineon Raceway for the 2011 season finale on Sunday, November
6th racing on the National track configuration.

10-13-11 Season
Finale For SKUSA Mountain Region This Weekend at Grand junction
Top Colorado
facility to host final round of 2011 season for Superkarts
regional program
Before the winter season creeps into the Colorado area, racers
can take advantage of the final chance to compete against some
of the top drivers at one of the best facilities in the western
half of the United States. The Superkarts! USA Mountain Region
series finale will take place this weekend at the Grand Junction
Motor Speedway – October 15-16. The Grand Junction, Colorado
facility will welcome the series for a second time this season
and have opened up the schedule for numerous local option
categories for those to experience the SKUSA-style event.
“We are committed to what Superkarts! USA is offering to the
karting community,” stated Stacey Cook of Grand Junction Motor
Speedway. “After hosting the SKUSA Pro Tour in July and the
opening rounds of the SKUSA Mountain Region earlier this year,
we have witnessed first hand how professional they handle their
events, how much fun racers are having, and how competitive the
fields are. If you live within five hours of here, you need to
be in Grand Junction this weekend.”
The standard SKUSA categories will be offered once again (S2,
S4, S5, TaG Senior, TaG Master, TaG Junior and TaG Cadet). Local
option classes to take part include Open Shifter, Open TaG, DD2,
Mini Max, Micro Max, Comer, Briggs, and Kid Karts. Grand
Junction will be offering cash purses for the S2 and TaG Senior
divisions with a 20% payback (50% for first, 30% for second, 20%
for third). Saturday, October 15 will host a full day of
practice, set for 9am to 5pm for a $40 fee. Sunday will be the
fourth round of the series with practice beginning at 8am,
qualifying at 10am and awards around 5pm.
“Stacey and the entire staff at GJMS have welcomed us with open
arms,” commented Superkarts! USA President Tom Kutscher. “The
track is among the best in the country and the crew there will
go out of their way to get things done. Offering up a cash purse
this weekend for the Pro categories is just another example. We
are happy to be working with the Cook family and look forward to
more joint ventures in 2012.”
The chase for the series championship in S2 is down to two
drivers – Christian Schureman and Cory Milne. Schureman scored
the main event win at round three after Arizona driver Kyle
Hathcox stole the show in the opening two rounds. Milne trails
Schureman by 60 points, with plenty of on-track action to close
the gap. A similar gap is in the S5 Junior Stock Moto division.
Ryan Rudolph has two main event wins over Austin Schimmel’s one,
but Schimmel has accumulated 65 more points to lead the
championship chase heading into round four. The TaG Master
battle is just 15 markers apart, with Robert Valentino and JP
Tandurella in the mix. Each has a victory on the year, with
Valentino holding the advantage into the weekend. Jet Davis (S4)
and Mianna Wick (TaG Junior) have the championships in hand
depending on their participation for round four.
This will most likely be the final time racers in the Rocky
Mountain area will have a chance to prepare for the upcoming
SKUSA SuperNationals XV in Las Vegas on November 16-20. Weather
is expected to be perfect for racing, with sunshine and
comfortable temperatures in the forecast. Registration form can
be found at the following link (http://www.superkartsusa.com/dmdocuments/2011_SKUSAMR_R4.pdf).
A special package price for entry to the event has been set at
$375 that includes entry, tires, fuel, oil, 1 pit spot and
Saturday practice. Call Grand Junction Motor Speedway at
970-256-0107 or email Kelly at Kelly@crg-usa.com for more
information. Also make sure to bookmark www.skusamr.com for
last-minute event details.

10-13-11 P1
Engines- Lancaster grand Prix Report
"More podiums for P1 Engines powered drivers"
Making the short trek to Southern California, P1 Engines would
have multiple competitors compete at the annual SuperKarts! USA
(SKUSA) Lancaster Grand Prix. Quickly becoming one of the top
street races in the United States, fierce battles would ensue as
victories and podiums were on the line.
Competing in the TaG Junior category, Nathan Seegrist would
score P1 Engines' best result of the weekend. After hovering
around in the top five throughout the weekend's competition,
Seegrist would cross the stripe in the second position. Post
race penalties and disqualifications would then follow and
Seegrist was awarded the win, his first Streets of Lancaster
victory of his career. Fellow TaG Junior driver Dallas Hollins
also scored a top-ten result coming home in ninth.
In the highly competitive Tag Senior Camden Geise steadily
improved from his ninth place qualifying effort to claim two
heat results in the top-four and then a solid third place podium
result in the main event. Geise would be the first of the
Parilla Leopard powered drivers and would provide P1 Engines
with another podium finish. Wayne Clark would garner a tenth
place finish in the talented field of 26 after a few years away
from the sport.
"Our TaG program has really grown and the results show that,"
expressed P1 Engines owner Jesus Vasquez.."
In PRD Senior, P1 Engines would claim the entire front row with
drivers Christian Weiland and Yannick Rolland. Though Weiland's
day ended early with a crash, Rolland went on to claim a third
place finish when the checkered flag had flown.
Just as they did in PRD Senior, a pair of P1 Engines powered
drivers sat on the front row of TaG Masters with Paul Bonilla
and Andy Seeseman leading the field to the green. Powered by P1
prepared Rok TT's, both drivers would be fast but encounter
problems forcing them to retire from the event. Though not
completing the race, Bonilla set fast time in both qualifying
and the main event.

10-13-11 Phil
Giebler Racing’s Shawn Cricca wins, Chris Cricca 4th, Joel
Miller 5th in TaG Senior at Lancaster Grand Prix
Phil Giebler Racing’s Shawn Cricca won, Chris Cricca finished
fourth and Joel Miller was fifth in the TaG Senior main event in
the Superkarts! USA Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix Sunday (Oct.
9).
Shawn Cricca dominated the weekend, winning both heats and
posting the fastest qualifying lap on the .7-mile circuit in
downtown Lancaster.
“It’s probably my biggest victory in the five years I’ve been
karting,” the 20-year-old from Simi Valley, Calif., said. “It
was definitely the most competitive class. There were 25 drivers
capable of winning.”
Cricca started on pole, but fell behind Devin Lindsey of
Highland, Calif., at the start. Third-place finisher Camden
Geise was pressuring Cricca in the early laps.
“I told myself to get ahead of Lindsey because I didn’t want to
get into a battle with Geise and let Lindsey get away,” Cricca
said.
On the seventh lap, Cricca passed Lindsey.
“I had a good run off the corner and out-braked him into a
hairpin,” Cricca said.
Cricca was .442 of a second in front of runner-up Lindsey at the
checkered flag in the 20-lap feature.
“This was an amazing weekend for Shawn,” Giebler said. “It was
his first major event victory. He has worked very hard for it
and I’m very happy for him and his family.”
Brother Chris Cricca also was strong throughout the two-day
event. The 17-year-old from Simi Valley was third fastest in
qualifying and was fourth and sixth in the heats.
“Chris had a great weekend as well,” Giebler said. “He is
gaining a lot of confidence and he is very quick.”
Miller of Hesperia, Calif., was second fastest in qualifying and
third in the first heat. But he was pushed into barriers at the
end of the second heat and had to start the main event 22nd in a
25-kart field.
“Joel had a fantastic run,” Giebler said. “His climb back up to
fifth was a great comeback. He had the fastest lap of the race.”
PGR’s Emily Maddison of Calgary, Canada, finished 15th in the
TaG Senior main. She was 19th in qualifying and the first heat
and 14th n the second heat.
“Emily had a tough final,” Giebler said. “She was up to 11th
when her kart was damaged on the sixth lap.”
PGR’s Andrew Wiener of Chula Vista, Calif., and Lloyd Mack of
Beaumont, Calif., retired after completing two laps in the TaG
Senior main. Wiener was 14th fastest in qualifying, finished
fifth and eighth in his heats and was running sixth in the main
when he was involved n a crash. Mack didn’t post a qualifying
time, was 10th and 15th in the heats and fell out with
mechanical problems in the main.
Shawn Cricca drove a FA Kart powered by a Vortex Rok built by
D-Power. Chris Cricca, Miller, Maddison and Wiener drove FA
Karts with IAME Engines built by D-Power. Mack drove an FA Kart
with an Vortex Rok engine.
Mason Daughters of Kansas City, Mo., finished sixth in the main,
qualified second fastest, and was fifth and 12th in the heats in
TaG Junior in a FA Kart with an IAME engine built by D-Power for
PGR.
“Mason had an up-and-down weekend,” Giebler said. “He did a
great job to qualify second. In the second heat, he was chasing
down the leaders until he pushed too hard and caught one of the
barriers with his front wheel. Mason had a solid drive in the
main and was up to fifth, but the ground wire to the engine was
severed and his engine sputtered intermittently.”
PGR’s Steve Wiener of Chula Vista, Calif., finished ninth in the
main, eighth and 11th in the heats and qualified 10 in TaG
Master in a FA Kart powered by Vortex Rok. Teammate Vatche
Tatikian of North Hollywood, Calif., was 14th in the main, 11th
and 15th in the heats and qualified 15h in a Spec Honda Shifter
with Honda CR125 power built by Darcy Decoste. Teammate Richard
Griffin of Chula Vista, Calif., was fifth in the main, fourth in
both heats and qualified fifth in Spec Senior PRD driving a FA
Kart powered by PRD.
Phil Giebler Racing’s 10 drivers competed on MG tires.
Owned by the 2007 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, Phil Giebler
Racing is based in Orange, Calif., and competes nationally at
the highest level of karting in the United States. Giebler is a
resident of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Minimum Number of Pre-Entries Required For Scheduled Events
If you’re like
us, the “thrill” of being back at work usually wears off by
Monday afternoon and you start thinking about what you’re going
to be doing next weekend.
If you’re thinking about next weekend includes a visit to PGP
for one of our scheduled events — competitive karting or
SuperMoto — we are now implementing a new policy so we can get a
pulse of upcoming participation.
The folks who come out rain or shine do so with an expectation
that they will be racing with a bunch of other hardcore types.
It’s just not as much fun if only a handful of folks show up.
So, we are putting some responsibility back on you. Effective
immediately, PGP will need to know by the Thursday before each
event who is coming to play through pre-registration. Without a
minimum number of pre-entries, those events may be cancelled and
replaced with open kart rentals.
We love racing, the racers and all the families. As a new
company still, we need to make sure we are operating as
efficiently as possible.
At PGP, we know many of you check the weather forecast (hey, we
do too) and some folks simply won’t come out if the sun isn’t
shining. We don’t schedule open rentals during most of our
competitive events, but many of you know that the rentals are
able to run even if it does rain — and in fact a lot of folks
out there are waiting for the rain as this makes for some very
exciting driving.
This policy is in effect starting now, so Karters and SuperMoto
riders take note: If you’re planning on attending a Sunday Stars
of PGP SuperMoto or Kart Series event, please pre-register with
us by the previous Thursday – this Thursday for this weekend’s
SuperMoto race.
Right now the weather for the upcoming weekend looks pretty good
— partly cloudy with a chance of rain — so we’re hoping all of
you plan on being here. Bike riders also don’t forget we’ve
scheduled a FREE SuperMoto Track Day on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Alberico Concludes Rookie British Formula Ford Championship
Campaign at Silverstone
American teenager joined by Team USA Scholarship counterpart in
season-finale tripleheader
European racing rookie Neil Alberico concludes his inaugural season in the
world renowned MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain
this weekend (October 8-9), with three races at the historic
Silverstone Circuit. The American returns to the cockpit of his
Cliff Dempsey Racing prepared Ray for Rounds 22, 23 and 24
currently ninth in the title chase, and poised to add to his
tally of 14 top-10 finishes.
For Alberico, the 2011 British Formula Ford Championship has
been all about learning and developing his talents behind the
wheel. Going against some of the premier up-and-coming racers
from the United Kingdom and abroad, the highly-rated racer from
California has done just that. Despite having never visited or
raced at any of the series circuits prior to race season getting
underway, and having no previous FF experience, Alberico has
regularly made his mark. This has been particularly evident come
race time, with the former Bondurant Championship Race Series
champion routinely displaying superb racecraft via some bold
passing moves behind the wheel of the No. 22 Lohmann Tapes/Sparco
USA/Kartel Motorsports/Murray Motorsport/Ray RaceCar/Cliff
Dempsey Racing entry. Add in the fact Alberico has been helping
develop the Ray GR11 chassis throughout the season, the American
teenager has impressed many onlookers.
The 2011 season-finale tripleheader at Silverstone not only
represents one final opportunity for the 18 year-old to showcase
his talents and add to his European racing resume, but also
marks the start of the prestigious Team USA Scholarship program.
Alberico, who is one of three drivers selected as a Team USA
racer for 2011, will be joined under the Cliff Dempsey Racing
awning during the tripleheader by Spencer Pigot of Florida.
Alberico will partner the USF2000 National Championship
runner-up at Silverstone, before switching to a Cliff Dempsey
Racing Formula Ford with Kent power for the historic Formula
Ford Festival and Walter Hayes trophy, which will also feature
New Jersey's Trent Hindman racing as a Team USA driver.
"I'm super pumped for Silverstone this weekend!" stated Alberico.
"It's the event finale for the Duratec championship, as well as
the start of the Team USA Scholarship, with Spencer Pigot
joining me as teammate. It's good to hear an American accent for
the first time in a long time. It is crazy how fast this season
has gone by! It would be nice to finish this season on a high
note. Our success is going to start with our qualifying
performance."
With the goal of qualifying and racing at the front, the action
gets underway for Alberico and the entire MSA Formula Ford
Championship of Great Britain field on Thursday (October 6) via
pre-event testing. Following a day of practice, qualifying and
Round 22 will take place on Saturday (October 8). Rounds 23 and

10-6-11 Joel
Miller among nine drivers entered with Phil Giebler Racing at
Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix
Former Stars of Karting ICA North American champion Joel Miller
of Hesperia, Calif., will be one of nine drivers competing with
Phil Giebler Racing in the Superkarts! USA Streets of Lancaster
Grand Prix Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 8-9).
Miller won the ICA title in 2006 and moved on to win the Skip
Barber National Series title in 2007. He was a race winner and
runner-up in the 2008 Star Mazda championship and has also
driven in Firestone Indy Lights.
“Everything lined up to run with Phil,” Miller said. “I’ve been
a competitor and a friend of Phil and it’s nice to run with him
and his dad (Everett). Phil’s team is so devoted to the Tony
Kart brand and it supported me when I won the ICA championship
and I wanted to stay with it.”
PGR uses Tony Kart-produced FA (for Fernando Alonso) Karts for
the majority of its drivers.
“I am excited that Joel is joining our team,” Giebler said.
“With his talent, work ethic and experience, I’m sure we’ll be a
great combination and think having Joel will be a boost to the
whole team. He’s a tough competitor.”
Miller and teammates Emily Maddison of Calgary, Canada, brothers
Shawn and Chris Cricca of Simi Valley, Calif., and Andrew Wiener
of Chula Vista, Calif., will be in TaG Senior. Miller, Maddison,
Chris Cricca and Wiener, who won a Los Angeles Karting
Championship event in Rotax Senior at Fontana in his last outing
on Sept. 25, will be in FA Karts with IAME engines built by
D-Power. Shawn Cricca will have an FA Kart powered by a Vortex
Rok built by D-Power.
PGR will be entered in four other classes: Mason Daughters of
Kansas City, Mo., will be in TaG Junior driving an FA Kart with
an IAME engine built by D-Power; Steve Wiener of Chula Vista,
Calif., will be in TaG Master driving a FA Kart with a Vortex
Rok engine built by D-Power; Vatche Tatikian of North Hollywood,
Calif., will be in Spec Honda Shifter S3 with Honda CR125 power
built by Darcy Decoste; Richard Griffin of Chula Vista, Calif.,
will be in Spec PRD Senior driving a FA Kart powered by PRD.
Griffin will be on Bridgestone tires. The remaining eight will
be on MG tires.
It will be the third Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix, run on a
.7-mile circuit through the city’s downtown. It is the first
year Superkarts! USA has sanctioned and run the event.
“It is sure to be a big and fun event,” Giebler said. “It will
serve as a great test run for the team to prepare for the SKUSA
SuperNationals in Las Vegas in November (16-20). Our team and
drivers continue to gain momentum and we’re looking forward to
Lancaster and the SuperNationals.”
Miller will also drive for PGR in the SuperNationals.
“I’ve always wanted to run the SuperNationals,” Miller said.
“It’s only two and half hours from my home and it’s one of the
most competitive karting events in the world. The competition
will be very good and karting is the best way to keep your race
craft sharp and for staying in shape.”
Owned by the 2007 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, Phil Giebler
Racing is based in Orange, Calif., and competes nationally at
the highest level of karting in the United States. Giebler is a
resident of Huntington Beach, Calif.

10-4-11 Red
Line Oil Karting Championship begins the final four week stretch
to determine 2011 champions
This Sunday,
October 9th, the Red Line Oil Karting Championship (RLOKC)
enters the final stretch of the 2011 season. All RLOKC classes
will run this weekend on the Reverse Sprint configuration at the
Simraceway Performance Karting Center at Infineon Raceway. This
will be Round #7 of the 2011 season with the non-Rotax classes
running their final race on November 6th. The Nor Cal Rotax
Challenge (NCRC) classes have two remaining races after this
weekend including the annual trip to the Kinsmen Kart Club track
in Dixon on October 30th. The NCRC returns to Infineon Raceway
for the final race of the year on November 6th.
The GoPro featured class this Sunday will be the DD2 Masters
class with the winning driver taking home a GoPro HD Hero
Camera. The DD2 Masters class is one of several classes with
tight points races still in progress. In DD2 Masters, Michael
Ostrowski and Andre Eriksen are battling for the championship.
In 80 Masters, Roger Cornwall, with no main event wins this
year, is leading in net points over three race winner Charles
Hastings and two race winner Tom Nelson. In Senior Rotax, 2010
champ Carlos Calderon is trailing Niki Luna for the top spot. In
Junior Rotax, Maxx Marian is leading Zack Dante and Will
Preston. In 125 Shifter S4, Jim Inglebright has a slim lead over
David Arnstein with Nick Galante close behind. Michael Michoff
has five wins in the Sanzaru Games sponsored Rotax Mini Max
class, but still needs solid performances to hold off the
challenge of Annie Breidinger if he is to secure the class
crown. Don Rocci has a solid lead over Ben Schreiner in the IAME
TaG class. Cameron Evans holds a slim lead over Jerry Pretti in
the Rotax Masters class with these two drivers exchanging wins
all season long. And in Rotax Masters Light, Andrea Delfanti has
all but clinched the class crown but a stronger battle is still
in progress for the runner spot between David Carlisle, Mary
Beth Wilson and Stephan Gaudreau.
With all the close points battles, lots of close racing is
expected, so come out and see the action. Moondoggies will have
food for sale on Sunday only this weekend with breakfast and
lunch offerings as well as coffee and other drinks for sale.
Saturday will again be a practice day from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Registration and pre-tech will be available on Saturday. The
Sunday race program will begin at 8:20 am with the first
practice session followed by qualifying, two 8 lap heat races
and 15 lap mains starting at 2:40 pm. Admission for spectators
is $10, $5 for kids 8 and under. Race entry is $100, transponder
rental is $10 and Saturday practice is $50. Saturday and Sunday
racer and spectator sign-ups will again be at the old Jim
Russell administration building just to the right of the Main
Gate as one drives into Infineon Raceway. For more information

Future Champions Could Be Revealed in Junior Rental Race on
October 22
Every racer
started somewhere and most of today’s championship winners —
like Helio Castroneves (IndyCar), Jeff Gordon (NASCAR),
Lewis Hamilton (F1) to name just a few — began racing in
karts in their teens or earlier.
To help get PGP’s younger karters off to a good start we’ve
scheduled a Junior Rental Race for Saturday, Oct. 22.
Open to any driver age 12-14 at least 4 feet 10 inches tall
and who has completed PGP’s Junior Racer school, the Junior
Rental Race is perfect for kids with little or no race
experience OR for those looking to improve their track
skills.
The race will include a practice session, semi-final and
final event, all for $85. Pre-registration is required
because space is limited (click here for the form).
Junior Race School classes cost $75 and are held throughout
the week for your convenience. More information and
registration forms for race schools can be found on our
website, or contact the track by phone for other class
options.
Plan now so your young karter won’t miss out on this chance
to mix it up with his or her peers on PGP’s award-winning
track in the Junior Rental Race on Oct. 22.
Who’s to say the 2020 class of champions won’t include a PGP
karter?
